INTRODUCING COLLEGE WRITING

This section, "Intro to College Writing," shows you some of the most important background secrets to writing in and for college, both in introductory courses and in majors and disciplines.  It is not enough simply to read teachers' assignments.  To succeed well in college-level writing, it helps to know some of the major types of writing you will be assigned.  You also can move forward more effectively if you know the typical stages of the college writer, where you are at now in those stages, and where you will be headed.  And finally, there are key methods for finding resources, methods the best students sometimes already know--and those who want to be the best students are wise to quickly discover and use.  The section has three chapters:

D. "Intro to College Writing" Chapters:

     21. What Is "College Writing"?--Variations in College Papers
     22. Levels of the College Writer--A Chart: Which Level Are You?
     23. Resources & Readings--Open Secrets of Writing in College
